It’s been a frustrating season for Cubs fans and Monday’s loss against the Minnesota Twins was a pretty good example. Kyle Hendricks has been a bit of a roller coaster ride in his tenth year in the big leagues, but on Monday he really was dealing. It was vintage Kyle as he threw six innings of five hit baseball. He gave up just two runs, they were both earned. He struck out five and walked only one. But the game was already over when Hendricks left in the seventh. The Cubs offense did nothing against David Festa, Caleb Thielbar, Jorge Alcalá, Jhoan Durán and Griffin Jax.
