One of the things that ruined the Cubs’ 2024 season was multiple bullpen meltdowns, particularly in the first couple of months.
It’s not my purpose here to rehash those. Cubs President of Baseball Operations Jed Hoyer spent a fair amount of time this offseason trying to address this issue. In that, I believe he has largely succeeded. While we still don’t know how well the Cubs pen will do in 2025, Hoyer has at least given manager Craig Counsell quite a large number of pitchers to choose from.
