The Chicago Cubs and Theo Epstein will need to be a little more creative in improving their chances for the postseason.
The Chicago Cubs and the MLB had the deadline moved from July 31 to August 31 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In essence, it only moved a month–from July to August is a big jump, though. Half a season. It’s kind of odd having it split in two months. But it is what it is. And they’ll need to be a little more creative on it–especially in the bullpen–to get what they want.
