When the Cubs finally won the World Series, it was as if a huge weight was lifted off our collective backs. It was basically the exact opposite feeling of when Obi-Wan felt all the people of Alderaan screaming and then become silent on that one really really bad day they had in a galaxy far, far away. It has been, inarguably (unfortunately or fittingly, depending on your point of view) the best era of Cubs baseball in franchise history.
And now, through a number of questionable decisions and roads not taken, this run might be over.
