Going through Cubs playoff history is a lot like that tired old joke from Airplane about Jewish Sports Legends. There isn’t much to comb through.
So when a friend, Athletic subscriber Matt Freedman, texted me on Tuesday morning about the Cubs’ record on Yom Kippur, the holiest time of the year in the Jewish faith, it wasn’t very tough to find. And it got me thinking about all those poor Cubs fans in Kol Nidre services tonight, itching for the early score as the Cubs try to clinch a berth in the National League Championship Series.
