MESA, Ariz. – Getting through the 2021 season is going to be a battle of attrition for pitchers. Following the shortened 60-game season, going back to 162 games this season will require a closer eye on pitchers’ workloads.
Both manager David Ross and pitching coach Tommy Hottovy have already talked about multiple guys getting starts this season in Chicago, besides the five who ultimately will be in the rotation.
Shelby Miller has a chance to be one of those pitchers for the Cubs this season. Miller signed a minor-league deal with the Cubs this offseason and will be in the mix this spring.
