All of us knew before this Cubs road trip began that they’d have to win, and win again, and keep winning, to have any chance at all at the third NL wild-card spot.

Getting there is still a long shot, but they at least began the trip on a nigh note with a well-played 6-3 win over the Marlins Friday evening.

They spotted the Marlins a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second and then got to work in the third.
