The Cubs were behind... and then, suddenly, they weren’t. And then they built a nice lead... and then, blew it and wound up behind in the late innings.
Then, just as they did in Friday’s crazy game at Wrigley Field, this Cubs team came back. They forced extra innings and Ian Happ’s 10th-inning single completed a wild 11-10 victory over the Dodgers. It wasn’t quite as bananas as Friday’s contest or that grand-slam walkoff 45 years ago to the day, but... wild enough.
Winning this way, though highly entertaining, isn’t recommended on an everyday basis, though the Cubs have now had a game like this twice in five days.
