Seiya Suzuki has made steady progress in recovering from a strained left oblique that kept him out of Cactus League action and he appears to be nearing a rehab assignment. David Ross said the right fielder’s health is a “10 out of 10” after getting four at-bats in a sim game in Mesa on Tuesday, allowing him to play the field in another sim game Wednesday.
From Ross: Suzuki’s oblique is “a 10 out of 10” right now. If today’s sim game goes well, Minor League rehab could be coming “soon.” Said Hughes would face Suzuki in today’s sim game in Arizona.
