Schwarber, serving as the designated hitter and batting sixth in his first career start, picked up his first career hit with an RBI triple in the second inning of Wednesday's game against the Indians. He then added an RBI single in the third.
In a 1-1 count during the second, Schwarber smoked a ground ball just under the glove of Indians first baseman Carlos Santana and into the corner in right field. Right fielder Brandon Moss was slow getting the ball back into the infield, and Schwarber made it to third base, driving in Chris Coghlan to give the Cubs a 1-0 lead in what would eventually become a six-run inning.
