Schwarber out for season with torn ACL and LCL in left knee

Cubs left fielder Kyle Schwarber will miss the 2016 season after tearing the ACL and LCL on his left knee in a collision with Dexter Fowler on Thursday night at Chase Field.

Football type of knee injury, no timetable just yet for recovery but again he’s out for the year.

Schwarber had an MRI on Friday that revealed the extent of the damage. The injury looked bad from the beginning, and thought immediate X-rays were negative, most figured the MRI would show damage to his knee and ankle.

Went back to watch that Schwarber collision again in real time.
