I’m going to spare Al the trouble of putting a “watch the political conversations” disclaimer at the bottom of this post by making it the lede. The point of this post isn’t to debate who is right or wrong in the protests that have erupted in Chicago and every other major city across America. But I honestly don’t know how to write a diary of the world without baseball without talking about a moment that will shape this crisis and its aftermath.
The protests we are seeing every day and night are historic. A generational scream of frustration over injustice that began in response to the murder of George Floyd but have grown to something larger than anything I’ve witnessed.
