Sammy Sosa apologizes and will be welcome at the 2025 Cubs Convention

Sammy Sosa’s departure from the Cubs after the 2004 season was shrouded in controversy, first, for allegations of PED use, then for the way he allegedly walked out on the team on the last day of the season.

For the last several years, Cubs Chairman Tom Ricketts has said Sosa would be welcomed back into the team fold if he apologized.
