Ryne Sandberg’s cancer has, unfortunately, returned

Over the past year, we learned that Cubs Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, undergone treatment and had been declared cancer-free. A statue was dedicated in his honor in Gallagher Way next to Wrigley Field last June 23, on the 40th anniversary of the famous Sandberg Game, and Ryno gave a moving speech that afternoon.
