The Cubs made their first round of roster reductions Friday, trimming 11 players to bring the total number to 51 remaining in MLB camp. Robel Garcia and Tyson Miller — there was some initial confusion based on the tweet below, but Ian Miller was not part of this action — have been optioned to Triple-A. Manuel Rodriguez and Justin Steele were optioned to Double-A, while Jason Adam, Oscar De La Cruz, Tyler Olson Jhonny Pereda, Caleb Simpson, CD Pelham, and Brock Stewart were assigned to minor-league camp.
