CHICAGO -- Jon Lester said he wasn't upset at home-plate umpire Andy Fletcher. The Cubs' left-hander had plenty to be frustrated about.
Lester struggled with his fastball command in Thursday's 4-0 loss to the Dodgers, and he allowed two runs in a weird first in which he gave up two hits, walked two and struck out the side. In the second, Lester walked A.J. Ellis, wasn't happy about the outcome, and yelled something. Fletcher must have thought the comment was directed at him.
