MILWAUKEE -- Pinch-runner Keon Broxton scored from third on Christian Yelich's grounder with one out in the ninth inning to power the Brewers to a 4-3 victory over the Cubs on Monday at Miller Park and pull within four games of Chicago in the National League Central Division.
The Cubs had plenty of highlights. Javier Baez sprinted around the bases to score in the first, Cole Hamels was stingy, and Anthony Rizzo provided some late-inning heroics with a two-run homer with two outs in the eighth. There also were some lowlights, especially in the eighth inning when both manager Joe Maddon and reliever Carl Edwards Jr.
