Several years ago, I wrote this article proposing that the Cubs change the Wrigley Field scoreboard to show team names instead of city names.
I’m reviving this idea now because, well, check out how the board looked just before Tuesday night’s game against the Rangers started:

As you all likely know, the Athletics, per edict from MLB, are now to be known as just “Athletics,” no mention of their three (or more) years in Sacramento. (However, as I noted in this Cubs/A’s series preview from last month, I am following the San Francisco Chronicle’s lead and using the city name.
