The Cubs have acquired several bullpen arms this off-season with small trades, waiver claims and a minor signing. The front office would like to add more depth to the relief corps and according to Mike Berardino, the Cubs are one of three teams showing the most interest in free agent, veteran reliever Fernando Rodney.
The Twins and Padres are also very interested in Rodney with the Padres being the only one of the three with a spot open for Rodney to close games. Hector Rondon is the Cubs closer and Glen Perkins has the ninth inning covered for the Twins.
