The Cubs split Saturday’s doubleheader at Cincinnati with a 6-5 loss in Game 2. The Cubs trail the Reds 2-1 in the four-game series.
The winning run scored on a wild pitch by Cubs reliever Craig Kimbrel.
The Cubs had a one-run lead going into the final inning. After a game full of home runs, the Cubs had scored the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly hit by Nico Hoerner in the top of the sixth inning.
That, plus a spree of ejections that favored the Cubs in the end, had made up for a shaky start from Cubs right-hander Alec Mills.
