Pitcher hitting gives Cubs their lead in NLDS Game 2

CHICAGO -- If the Chicago Cubs break their 108-year championship drought, you figure some unusual things will have to happen for a franchise many have called cursed. They got plenty of the unusual early in Saturday's Game 2.

One night after Chicago rode a single run to beat the Giants 1-0 in Game 1 of the NLDS, the Cubs got offensive production from a most unexpected source: Their pitching staff.

First, Kyle Hendricks dropped a two-run single into center field in the second, giving Chicago an early 3-0 lead. It marked just the sixth time in Chicago's long history that a pitcher has driven in two runs in a postseason game.
