Pirates upend Jake Arrieta, Cubs bullpen in Pittsburgh

Cubs ace Jake Arrieta was charged for six runs in six-plus innings as the Cubs dropped their fourth straight game and their seventh in their last eight games in an 8-4 loss to the Pirates in Pittsburgh.

Arrieta (12-4, 2.68 ERA) gave up nine hits, including two home runs. He only walked one, but that mistake proved costly as the Pirates beat the Cubs for just the second time in 10 games.

Describe this game in three words: Not in command.

7th not-so heavenly: Arrieta started the bottom of the seventh inning with a 4-3 lead and just 75 pitches.
