A pair of home runs in the first inning doomed the Pelicans. Gleyber Torres' response wasn't enough.
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans went to Winston-Salem to play the first game of their best-of-three series with the Dash (White Sox) and they dropped game one, 4-2.
The Dash hit back-to-back home runs off of Pelicans starter Duane Underwood Jr. in the bottom of the first. After Underwood retired the first two batters of the inning, Jake Peter singled and then Trey Michalczewski hit a two-run home run to make it 2-0.
