It seems pretty safe to say that we’ve seen the last of Pedro Strop in a Cub’s uniform in a meaningful situation. He is a free agent after this season and I can’t see the Cubs investing any more money in an aging reliever.
This year’s struggles aside, the 34 year old Strop has been nothing short of fantastic since joining the Cubs in the 2013 trade of Steve Clevinger and Scott Feldman for Strop and some guy named Jake Arrieta.
Before this season, Strop didn’t have an ERA over 3.00 in each of his years as a Cub.
