It has been a rough few months for the Tampa Bay Rays. There has been a lot of back and forth drama between the team and local officials; the existing stadium was decimated by a hurricane, and the Rays will now be playing the 2025 season at a Minor League ballpark.
But now, a new disappointment has emerged for the team and its fans, as the Rays announced they would not be proceeding with their plans to develop a new stadium in St. Petersburg.
All this comes on the heels of rumors that the Rays may be garnering sale interest (and now there are many new calls for Stu Sternberg to sell the team as Rays fans express their disappointment over this stadium news).
