Jim Leyland, the man a the helm of the best Detroit Tigers seasons in several decades, and the manager who turned around the Marlins ship and brought them their first World Series win, has been elected by the Eras Committee to enter the Hall of Fame.
Of all the eligible candidates for admission by the Eras Committee, Leyland was the only one to get the 75% vote necessary for admission, but it means during the summer’s upcoming Hall of Fame ceremonies he will get his turn at the podium.
Leyland managed four teams: the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Florida Marlins, the Colorado Rockies, and the Detroit Tigers.
