Good morning. Maybe this is the week the Cubs actually add a player to the 40-man that isn’t through a waiver claim.
- As if the Dodgers don’t have enough players, they’ve reportedly agreed to a one-year, $23.5 million deal with free agent outfielder Teoscar Hernández. Also, $8.5 million of that deal will be deferred until 2030 to 2039.
- The Giants and Mariners made a trade, with the M’s sending 2021 Cy Young Award winner Robbie Ray to San Francisco while outfielder Mitch Haniger and right-hander Anthony DiSclafani will head to Seattle.
