Happy Monday, BCB friends, and welcome to the last week of January. While it seems impossible that the first month of the year is already done, it is delightful to know that we are mere weeks away from seeing real live baseball in 2025, which is a delightful prospect.
This week we obviously saw the excitement of the Hall of Fame election, and there wasn’t too much crazy beyond that to report on, but we’ve got Steve Cohen getting very candid about the Mets’ “exhausting” negotiations with Pete Alonso. Evidently things don’t seem to be completely closed off, but they’re not looking good in terms of Alonso returning to the team.
