We have almost come full circle on the 2024 season. The Cubs’ home-opening series was against the Rockies, Apr. 1-2-3 at Wrigley Field, and the Cubs swept the series, outscoring the visitors from Colorado 26-10.
That sounds good, but the third of those games, a 9-8 win, presaged some bullpen issues. The Cubs nearly blew an 8-2 seventh-inning lead. The good news, I suppose, is that none of the seven pitchers who appeared in that game are on the Cubs’ active roster now. Five are injured and two are on other teams.
Also, it was cold!
