With an FBI investigation looming over its sport, the National Association of Basketball Coaches recently hosted a conference call, inviting all 351 coaches into the conversation. Though the call wasn’t mandatory, it was strongly urged and well attended, with virtually every Division I coach on the line.
The conversation, according to NABC president Bill Self, was more informative than anything, but there was a suggestion that if anyone was involved in anything nefarious that they ought to share it rather than be discovered.
“You’re going to be found out, that’s all we wanted people to understand,’’ Self said.
