MILWAUKEE — Cubs outfielder Albert Almora Jr. got married on the Cubs’ off day Thursday at “some courthouse” in Chicago. He had teammates Kris Bryant, Justin Grimm, Addison Russell and Kyle Schwarber and their significant others join him and his new bride Krystal for the ceremony and dinner afterward.
On Friday, Almora was sent down to Triple-A Iowa to make room for starting center fielder Dexter Fowler.
“It was exciting, a really exciting time,” Almora said. “Now this happens today. But she’s a warrior.”
The couple is expecting their first child, a boy, on Sept.
