No fear: The return of Kris Bryant has Cubs breathing a sigh of relief

The lasting image of the 2018 season could've been Joe Maddon clutching a visibly shaken-up Kris Bryant a few feet from home plate at Coors Field.

San Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt lost months of his career after taking a 79 mph pitch to his head last season, but the Cubs appear to have dodged a bullet with Bryant after he was drilled with a 96 mph fastball from German Marquez Sunday.

Less than a week after that scary scene, Bryant is once again back in the Cubs lineup and all is right with the baseball world.
