This is kind of tough, because I really don’t hate the Mets like I do the Cardinals or Dodgers. I’m not nearly old enough to remember what happened in 1969, and in a lot of ways their team this year reminds me of the Cubs because they have lots of young talent that has caught the eye of the rest of the league and brought them deeper in the playoffs than what was expected. In New York’s case, it’s the pitching staff, so this could make for some interesting showdowns between our young hitters and their young pitchers. That said, there’s no question that I will be disappointed if we don’t advance to the World Series.
