DALLAS – The Cubs left a strong impression on Matthew Boyd when he faced them in his first game back from Tommy John surgery at Cleveland’s Progressive Field.
“It’s one of those things where you’re like, ‘Man, time just going to make things better and better,” he said of the rotation in his introductory Zoom conference Monday.
Now, he’s a member of that rotation, signed to a two-year deal worth $29 million guaranteed. The Cubs aren’t necessarily done shaping that group for next year.
