Remember the heady days of 2014 and the Chicago Cubs? Sure you do. Rick Renteria was at the helm, Ryan Sweeney kind of seemed like a good idea. The Cubs offense was not quite the juggernaut it is now. But Anthony Rizzo, Starlin Castro and Luis Valbuena led a star-studded offense to 73 wins.
Right before the deadline the Cubs called up a dynamic young player with a great name. Arismendy Alcantara. He’s probably best remembered for three things: One, he got off to a great start with nine hits in his first five games including three doubles, a triple and a homer.
