MLB says teams whose games are on Diamond Sports can’t plan revenue for 2025

The ongoing saga of the 12 MLB teams whose games are carried by Diamond Sports Group took another turn this week. Diamond operates the Bally Sports Networks, who carry games of the Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Angels, Miami Marlins, Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, Tampa Bay Rays, Cleveland Guardians, Minnesota Twins and Texas Rangers. The last three teams in that list have deals with Diamond that expire after this year, so only nine will remain for 2025.

That is, if there are any deals at all. The mess is detailed in this article by Evan Drellich in The Athletic:

Major League Baseball on Tuesday threatened to pursue a “more drastic” legal remedy than it had previously considered if Diamond Sports Group, the bankrupt broadcasting company, cannot soon provide certainty about the 2025 baseball season.
