One week after it was reported that Justin Wilson was the Detroit Tigers player receiving the most interest at the winter meetings, another possible suitor has reached out about the left-handed reliever's availability.
According to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, the Chicago Cubs have been in contact with Detroit regarding a possible trade for Wilson.
The 29-year-old compiled a 4.14 ERA across 58 2/3 innings last season to go along with a 65/17 K/BB ratio and 25 holds in 30 chances. Wilson's role out of the Tigers bullpen fluctuated throughout the summer, going from left-handed setup man to the primary eighth-inning option and back to situational reliever.
