MLB Pipeline posted its updated Top 100 prospects list today and the Cubs are well-represented. In fact, it’d be seven if Pete Crow-Armstrong hadn’t graduated to the major leagues this year.
Here are the six, and their rankings.
Matt Shaw, No. 25
Shaw, last year’s No. 1 (13th overall) pick by the Cubs, hit .269/.368/.447 with 14 home runs and 26 stolen bases at Double-A Tennessee before being promoted to Triple-A Iowa on Aug. 1. He’s struggled there in a small sample size (2-for-19 in six games), but as is the case for many players, they take a bit to figure out the next level.
