Just last week, I wrote this article about Major League Baseball and rain delays. In that article, I quoted this article by James Fegan at Sox Machine, in which he wrote:
There was word near the end of spring that there will be an increased emphasis from MLB this season on waiting out weather delays whenever possible and avoiding doubleheaders, but it’s hard to know how serious an “emphasis” is until you’re living in it.
In the case of Sunday’s Cubs/Diamondbacks game at Wrigley Field, we were “living in it.” We saw yet another example of “waiting out weather delays whenever possible,” but also, MLB didn’t pay attention to actual weather forecasts and radars.
