Honestly at this point we'll take whatever news we can get.
On Thursday afternoon, MLB made did their best to butt into the NBA Trade Deadline with news that they're re-naming the Disabled List. Instead, it'll now be referred to as Injured List.
The story comes from ESPN's Jeff Passan, who reports that the name change is to help clear up confusing language:
The league will make the change out of concern that the term "disabled" for injured players falsely conflates disabilities with injuries and an inability to participate in sports.
Though the announcment was mocked pretty thoroughly -- an offseason that's yet to get started almost 6 months in tends to make people cranky -- any move that comes from listening to marginalized groups of baseball fans and acting accordingly is a good thing.
