Cubs shortstop Addison Russell's wife, Melisa, has filed for divorce, her attorney Thomas T. Field announced Wednesday.
She is seeking sole custody of their one-year-old son, child support and “maintenance consistent with the lifestyle established by the family.” Melisa Russell hired the Chicago law firm Beerman, Pritikin, Mirabelli and Swerdlove to represent her. The firm also represented Bulls guard Dwyane Wade in his divorce.
The filing, which occurred on June 15, came a little over a week after allegations of domestic violence surfaced on social media via a third party. Melisa Russell also alleged infidelity in an Instagram post of her own.
