Mayor Lightfoot: Chicago baseball return 'a ways away,' but possible in summer

Will baseball return to Chicago this summer? It's obviously hard to say amid so much uncertainty caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Major League Baseball continues to discuss ways to salvage the 2020 season, but one of the many challenges it faces is varying degrees of governmental measures as states across the country are afflicted by the coronavirus in different ways.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot was asked Monday if she could see baseball returning to Guaranteed Rate Field and Wrigley Field this summer, and she alluded to more of the challenges that the league will face in getting a safe season off the ground.
