Marquee Sports Network is likely headed to Comcast/Xfinity’s higher tier

Earlier this week I posted this article examining whether the Cubs flagship channel Marquee Sports Network would have any issues staying on Comcast/Xfinity systems in the Cubs market territory. Comcast is the largest provider in the area, covering about 55 percent of all cable/satellite homes.

Jeff Agrest of the Chicago Sun-Times says never fear, Comcast isn’t dropping Marquee — but it will likely cost you more:

The Cubs’ Marquee Sports Network expects Comcast to move it to a higher-priced tier on its Xfinity cable system soon and does not anticipate being dropped, the Sun-Times has learned.
