Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School names baseball field after Cubs' Anthony Rizzo

Anthony Rizzo played a big part in his high school renovating its baseball field, and the school is paying him back in a significant way.

Rizzo donated $150K to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School — all while helping raise additional funds — so the school could install lights for its baseball and softball fields. His alma mater unveiled the new baseball field on Monday, which they revealed will hence be known as Anthony Rizzo Field.

“It’s crazy, especially with all that’s happened the last couple of years,” Rizzo told the South Florida Sun Sentinel. “But going to school here, growing up here, playing with a lot of really good players that have played at this school and come into this program, and having this named after us is something that I’ve never thought of.
