Maddon yet to name Game 4 starter

The Cubs' choices include Jason Hammel (10-7, 3.74 ERA) or having Game 1 starter Jon Lester (11-12, 3.34 ERA in regular season) go on three days' rest, which he has done twice in his career but never in the postseason. The most recent of those came at the end of the 2011 season when, four days after throwing just 2 2/3 innings, he took a no-decision against Baltimore, allowing two runs over six innings. In 2008, he allowed four runs over five innings of a loss vs. the Rangers on short rest. Hammel has yet to appear in a postseason game with the Cubs, but he did pitch in the Division Series in 2009 with the Rockies and '12 with the Orioles, as well as the 2014 American League Wild Card Game for the A's.
