Let's go: Cubs officially open spring camp

MESA, Ariz. -- Cubs pitchers and catchers officially report on Friday, but Jon Lester had a message for his teammates who were not already in camp.

On Thursday, Lester posted on Twitter: "If you're reporting today ... you're late! #LetsGo #NVRQT"

Nearly every player on the roster has arrived in Arizona, including the other Cubs starters, Jake Arrieta, Jason Hammel, Kyle Hendricks and newcomer John Lackey. Cubs manager Joe Maddon, president of baseball operations Theo Epstein and general manager Jed Hoyer will meet with the media on Friday, and the first workout for pitchers and catchers will be Saturday.
