There were no surprises when Cubs manager Joe Maddon finally unveiled his postseason rotation Tuesday. The Cubs already juggled the lineup to make sure the starters were in the right spots, with Jon Lester leading the way.
There was no debate who gets the Game 1 starter nod this season.
“I think everyone in that clubhouse is very comfortable with all our starters,” team president Theo Epstein said. “But Jon Lester, this time of year when he’s feeling good about himself and he always embraces the moment, good things tend to happen. I think everyone feels great with him on the mound for us in this situation.
