Throughout the 2015 postseason, Kyle Schwarber quickly became a national icon for his power hitting and “Schwar-bombs.” In nine games, Schwarber hit five home runs to cap off a solid rookie season.
The biggest highlight of his postseason came in Game 4 of the National League Division Series, when he hit an epic home run to right field in the seventh inning to give the Cubs the lead over the Cardinals at Wrigley Field.
Truth be told, Schwarber in that moment didn’t know where it went. The ball seemingly disappeared into the sunsetting sky.
Some thought it landed on Sheffield Avenue where a lucky fan snatched it.
