As he has done for previous Players’ Weekends, Kris Bryant is once again partnering with three local Chicago street artists to customize adidas KB17 cleats and signature Chandler bats to raise awareness for spinal cord research.
Wings For Life is a spinal cord research foundation and charity that KB has supported throughout his time in the majors. Spinal cord injury is near to him as his close friend Cory Hahn, a former All-American high school baseball player, was paralyzed sliding into second base in 2011 while a freshman at Arizona State University.
The cleat and bat designs — brought to life by Chicago artists AFROKILLA, ELLO and Blake Jones — each tell a different story inspired by Bryant’s childhood memories.
