Kershaw, Dodgers win pitching duel in Game 2

The San Francisco Giants are beatable in even years. The Cubs won’t just fold in the postseason if a bad moment hits them late. And the best pitcher on the planet, Clayton Kershaw, can deliver in October.

This is the postseason where narratives come to die.

In a brilliantly pitched 1-0 victory over the Cubs, Kershaw outdueled Kyle Hendricks, the NL ERA leader, as both teams head to Los Angeles with the series knotted at one. Hendricks was strong, but not dominant, giving up just one run on a solo shot to Adrian Gonzalez while going 5 1/3 innings, striking out five and walking an uncharacteristic four batters.
